Together with the Validity Foundation, we have used Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 to request and obtain internal documents from the European Commission. These documents provide valuable insights into how the Commission has addressed the independent living of persons with disabilities, including the role of EU funds in (undermining) this process.
We believe transparency is essential for ensuring accountability and enabling meaningful participation by civil society, experts, and human rights defenders working to advance the rights of persons with disabilities.
